The typical expectation of a Christian is one which aligns to the word of God; when one’s expectation contradicts or opposes the word of God its realisation may be nothing but wishful thinking. On the other hand when one’s expectation is based on the word, nothing can kill it. In John 1:1 our Lord Jesus was described as ‘The Word’, and verse 14 was on point when it says ‘the word became flesh and dwelt amongst us’ therefore anything based on the word is based on Jesus so it cannot fall short. The word of God is full of life, it offers solution to all issues of life and for this reason, Jesus said in John 6:63 (CEV), “The Spirit is the one who gives life! Human strength can do nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are from that life-giving Spirit” King James version puts it this way,It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” Nobody can deny the fact that the written word of God gives life because on numerous occasions, the dead were brought to life through the word (Luke 7:13-15); the sick received healing (Psalm 107:20), struggling and toiling disappeared (Luke 5:5), difficult situations gave way, even a national famine was brought to an abrupt end due to the word! (2 Kgs.7:1) Welcome to September 2016: Our month of Life-giving words!!! Every word that will proceed from your mouth in line with the word of God this month will yield results. Every situation that has refused to bulge will agree with the living word in Jesus name. Your confession shall be your possession; you shall decree a thing and it shall be unto you accordingly in Jesus name.

The first thing we see in the bible is the effectiveness of the word, its ability to bring order and give meaning to life, Gen.1:2-3 says “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” It was God’s words that dispelled darkness and brought order to the earth. I pray that at the sound of your voice this season, darkness will give way and light shall shine on your path. In situations where you are confused or indecisive, the word of God will help you. God will open up the right options to you and you will make only the best decisions in Jesus name. The bible says the power of life and death is in the tongue (Prov. 18:21) so words matter a lot particularly that of a child of God. God will move in the direction of your words so what are you confessing? Numbers 14:28 says as you have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you. What have you been saying to God’s ears? Are your words in line with His promises? Are your words contrary to His plan for your life? When others are saying there is a casting down, it is your duty as a child of God to say there is lifting (Job 22:29)!

Words are so significant that they have been known to bring death to situations, destroy lives or even an entire nation (Josh.6:26). Words can be used to edify, to build up and to restore hope; words can bring healing, soften the hardest heart and soothe the most grieving heart (Prov.16:24). In 1 Sam 17; Goliath used the power of words to instil fear in the Israelites and confine them for as long as he wanted until one man used more powerful words to counteract him. The grace to reply the words of any Goliath keeping you down is given to you and you will no longer be limited in Jesus name. The mighty army in Ezekiel 37:1-10 remained in a lifeless state until they heard the word of God. Who would have thought that they were meant to be mighty! I declare that every form of death in your life, career, marriage and business will hear the life-giving word and life will be restored in Jesus name. The areas of your life where you didn’t even know you were under-performing will hear the living word and you will take your original position in Jesus name. The word of God is so powerful that God promises to honour His words more than His name (Ps.138:2) hence when we speak or ask according to His words, He will oblige us and grant our desires. When we speak God’s word, let hope rise in us because His word cannot return to him void but must accomplish purpose (Is.55:11 paraphrased).

Billy Graham said, “Wherever the word of God is hidden or ignored, there will be certain destruction”, not even satan can ignore the word of God and that is why he chooses to familiarise himself with the word so as to carry out his evil plan of derailing the children of God. Beloved do not be deceived if satan can quote the scriptures to our lord Jesus Christ, he will twist it to hold you down. You cannot afford to treat the word of God with kid’s gloves. This is not the time to take the word casually. Every word in the bible is meant for you to use and to bring answers to difficult questions. God the Omega went into your future and wrote a word He knows you will need at this time and once you apply the word, it will work wonders for you. May the  word give you rest from all your struggles and bring peace to every turmoil in your life. May His word impart your life and make it worth living. Any power trying to cut short your life will bow to the word of life. If you have heard the word and you are yet to make up your mind about its potency, this is the time to heed the call to immerse yourself in the word and let its life-transforming abilities bring the desired change to your life. As you study the word, read the word, speak the word, believe the word, WATCH YOUR LIFE RECEIVE A TOTAL MAKE OVER FOR THE BETTER. Shalom.
